Solar Powered vs. Passive
Passive roof ventilation such as a traditional ‘whirlybird’ requires the wind to blow to be effective. However, the intuitive MAXBREEZE® is powered by FREE energy from the sun enabling it to work all day long – even on still or cloudy days. How does it work?
Before MAXBREEZE®, elevated temperatures caused by the sun are caught in the roof cavity. Passive ventilation allows for some relief but only the MAXBREEZE® solar powered fan provides the necessary pressure to expel the hot air. After MAXBREEZE®, a lower temperature is maintained within the roof cavity with a constant flow of natural air to prevent humidity.
